I had the opportunity this summer to taste test the wonderful food at the newly opened GastroPub at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge Maryland. Not only was the food outstanding, the service was wonderful, and the views weren’t all that bad either. Take a look for yourself…
There’s just something about bike racing that I love snapping pictures of. It’s hard in a mountain bike race, with miles of trail between each rider to show just how intense a day can be. But with cyclocross, where everything happens all at once, I just stand back and snap photos. There’s never a dull moment.
It was so much fun being a part of the Fleming & Weintraub wedding! Their colors were stunning, with dark navy dresses for the bridal party accented with beautiful yellow flowers. Perfect for a summer wedding. Even their ring bearer was rocking in in his blue accented seersucker suit.
The reception was amazing at the Delaware Museum of Natural History, with custom table numbers, a rocking live band, and beautiful cake. On top of it, there were dinosaurs. I mean, seriously. Who wouldn’t want to snap a photo with the dinosaurs!
There is something about summer when the grass is tall and the sun sets late in the day that makes for stunning photos. It also doesn’t help when you have a park as big as Fair Hill to run around in, and a family as cute as this one to snap photos of.
Just a little inspiration for you this morning… This stunning couple was beautiful in many ways. It was great to hear about them and what the love about one another. I think I could do this just for the stories I get to share and memories I get to hear….
Sometimes we get to break for the normal Monday through Friday to cover some pretty cool events. This year’s MidAtlantic Food and Wine Festival was bigger and better than ever with something like 40 different event in 4 days. Talk about a whirlwind! If you didn’t catch a taste of it this year, check back next year. There are events all over the state of Delaware with a variety of themes. (more…)
We had a fun day in the kitchen shooting headshots for Claire to use in her ever expanding career as a travel and food writer as well as a cook book author. She was all smiles and made the best model. We started the morning with hair and makeup at Gloss Salon in Newark and then headed down to North East, MD for a fun afternoon in the kitchen snapping photos. We finished off the day outside near the water because, even with a grey skies, it was too pretty not too.
You wouldn’t think of the east coast for a lot of things other than beaches and cities, but I am here to tell you that there is a lush green world out there that you probably don’t even know about. From the wide rolling trails at Fair Hill in Cecil County Maryland, to the snaking mountain biking trails hidden in a historic park in Delaware, there are so many places to explore outside.
A few weekends ago on a beautiful spring morning, I was able to tour a scenic property just off the Chesapeake Bay, called The Winery at Elk Manor. My tour was especially priceless because my aunt was leading me around the property, the place where she first met her husband-to-be some 30 years before. There were so many memories in her eyes. It was truly an honor to have her show me around. (more…)
May 5th marks the one year anniversary of this couples Cinco de Mayo themed wedding at the local Terrapin Station Winery in Elkton, Maryland. How perfect is the style these two are rocking? The Cinco de Mayo theme was laced through their entire celebration from the food to the decorations. Their cake featured an awesome Cinco de Mayo themed topper and their beverages had custom labels made just for the day. All of it matched the sugar skulls on the bride’s dress and the trim on the grooms shirt.
